Intended learning outcomes
  1. Know the basics of stem cell technology.
  2. Recognize the characteristics of stem cells and their classification.
  3. Understand the methods to induce pluripotency and know the effect of epigenetics on cellular reprogramming.
  4. Master methodologies of isolation and cultivation of stem cells.
  5. Know the recent advances in the development of systems of bioreactors for the large-scale cultivation of stem cells. Identify the factors to control in bioreactors and their effects on stem cell engineering.
  6. Understand the relevance of efficient differentiation of stem cells for their application in research and medicine.
  7. Be familiar with current and future biomedical applications of human stem cells and challenges to overcome.
